Live / Under Pressure Pipeline Inspections

In-Line inspection

Orsco (Pty) Ltd can deliver a complete analysis of the condition of all pipeline infrastructure (active included) employing a comprehensive range of recognised technologies.

We can accurately assess pipe condition and life expectancy and pinpoint the location of leaks and bursts.

ORSCO (Pty) Ltd can provide clients with detailed data and information that supports defensible asset investment decisions. This helps our clients plan and prioritise works, optimise budgets, prevent future infrastructure failure and mitigate potential fines.

AQUAM LDS1000

The LDS1000 is a long-distance transmission main CCTV inspection and leak detection platform, designed for internal investigation and leak detection on pressurized pipelines. The system utilizes a light tri-Insertion Point sensor head incorporating a high-resolution digital camera, hydrophone and an internal sonde combined as a powerful platform for condition assessment, leak detection, mapping and locating. The device is designed to be inserted through existing access points or ‘hot taps’ with an internal diameter of 4” or greater and uses the flow within the pipe as the driver.

In-Line inspection

BENEFITS

  • No service interruptions
  • No access excavation or pipe cuttings
  • No pre-cleaning
  • Complies with drinking water quality standards.
  • Access in restricted or high-risk areas
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Identifies pipe infrastructure at greatest risk of failure.
  • Enables more accurate targeting & prioritising of repair & maintenance.
  • Enables accurate calculation of the life expectancy of pipelines.

Benefits

Condition assessment of pipe walls and pipelining.
Valve verification & air pocket Identification.
Assessment of tuberculation.
Live mains survey up to 1km length.
Survey large diameter pipelines with low/zero flow.
Mapping of internal and external pitting and corrosion.
Validation of pipe materials and wall thickness.
Leak and burst detection.
Location of blockages and faults.
Inspection of pipe joints and fittings.

SEWER CONDITION ASSESSMENT
MTA PIPE SCAN®

CABLE-BASED CONDITION ASSESSMENT AND DAMAGE QUALIFICATION OF PIPELINES WITH INTEGRATED LENGTH MEASUREMENT

The electromagnetic measurement system MTA Pipe Scan® is used to locate and qualify damage in a variety of pipelines with different media.

Even in the 90s of the last century attempts to detect leaks in sewers by means of “Electroscan“ technology were made. Today, more than 30 years later, state-of-the-art technology allows for translating the principle envisaged at that time into a reliable measuring system for determining and evaluating the condition of a pipeline.

With this non-disruptive method, a probe emitting an electric field is being dragged
drawn through the channel, all while voltage is applied to the surrounding soil.
As soon as the circuit is closed due to damage, a conductive connection to the
outside is created, over which electricity flows. This allows a continuous 360° status
determination of the entire pipeline.

Pipe Scanner

MTA PIPE SCAN® FACTS

  • Electromagnetic measuring method
  • 360° scan across the entire length of the pipeline
  • Precise localisation and qualification of damage
  • For all types of pipelines
  • Length measurement
  • Data basis for risk management
  • Damages to pipe structure and connections
    (corrosion, dislocations etc.)

DETERMINING

• Leakages
• Deposits
• Corrosion
• Pipe dislocations

IN-PIPE INSPECTION
MTA Pipe-Inspector is an autonomous inspection device. A floating battery powered in the pipeline fluid it collects continuous measurement data from inside for determining the pipeline condition without excavations or pipe cuttings.

FROM DN 100
Overcoming 90° bends MTA Pipe-Inspector is applicable in pipelines from DN 100 to DN 3000 regardless of the pipe material, even in hard-to-reach pipelines like at airports, highways, industrial or other access-sensitive areas. Delivering the data for system condition assessment the system offers a reliable basis for further economic decisions, risk management and evaluation.

APPLICATIONS

▪ drinking water
▪ raw water
▪ wastewater
▪ industrial water
▪ hydropower
▪ gravity channels and force mains
▪ distribution and transmission lines
