Locating of Grave Positions using GPR

Site:
Landfill Kokstad

System:
GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) LMX 200 with GPS.

Situation:
Orsco was appointed to conduct a GPR survey to locate possible grave sites in the landfill area near Kokstad.

Solution:
Orsco undertook a survey using the GPR LMX 200.

The GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) system is a well-known geophysical instrument used for such an investigation. The ground condition of the site on which scanning was supposed to happen was very difficult. Fortunately, with help from local authorities, we manage
to survey most of the area with smaller grids as well as
a few line scans with small spacing between them.

GPR data was processed using EKKO Project software.
Above you can see some of the GPR slice images from different depths and overexposed onto Google Earth. The velocity used to calibrate the depth of penetration was adjusted to 0,120 m/ns. Data was processed using EKKO Project software.
