Orsco

Live / Under Pressure Pipeline Inspections solutions

Orsco (Pty) Ltd can deliver a complete analysis of the condition of all pipeline infrastructure (active included) employing a comprehensive range of recognised technologies.

We can accurately assess pipe condition and life expectancy and pinpoint the location of leaks and bursts.

ORSCO (Pty) Ltd can provide clients with detailed data and information that supports defensible asset investment decisions. This helps our clients plan and prioritise works, optimise budgets, prevent future infrastructure failure and mitigate potential fines.

The Orb - A free swimming ball

Detects even the smallest leaks while accurately identifying pipeline direction. Advanced multi-sensor data fusion – combining hydrophones, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and more – ensures precise positioning and reliable detection throughout the pipeline inspection process.

  • Suitable for all kinds of pipes: steel pipes, cement pipes, PVC, PE, etc
  • Applicable pipe diameter: DN200~DN2000
  • Pipe pressure requirements: 0.1 MPa ~10.0 MPa
  • Pipeline media flow rate requirement: ≥0.2 m/s
  • Medium temperature requirements: 0°C ~ +70°C
  • Cut-out diameter requirements: ≥ 200 mm
  • External clearance requirements for the ball picking point: ≥ 4 m

SOFTWARE

Audio analysis enables playback and visualisation of decompressed raw audio data, including detailed time-domain waveforms, frequency spectra, and spectrogram displays for in-depth signal interpretation.

  • Leak signals are captured and analysed using high-sensitivity acoustic sensors for accurate detection.
  • Pipeline corrosion is assessed by collecting and interpreting residual magnetic field data along the pipe.
  • Using a three-axis accelerometer and three-axis gyroscope, flow velocity is calculated, providing valuable pipeline flow data and enabling the detection of hidden branch connections within the system.
