GLENSTANTIA PRIMARY SCHOOL
Trenchless CIPP Pipeline Rehabilitation Project

ORSCO (Pty) Ltd was appointed to assess and rehabilitate sections of the sewer network at Glenstantia Primary School using trenchless Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) technology. The objective was to restore the pipeline while minimising disruption to daily school activities.

THE CHALLENGE
The school’s ageing sewer infrastructure required rehabilitation to address defects and improve long-term performance. Traditional excavation methods would have caused significant disruption to the school grounds and operations.

INSPECTION AND PREPARATION
The project commenced with a comprehensive condition assessment of the sewer network using ORSCO’s robotic crawler camera inspection system.

The CCTV inspection enabled the team to accurately identify pipeline defects, assess structural integrity, and determine the most suitable rehabilitation strategy.

A detailed CCTV report was compiled, documenting all findings and recommendations.

THE SOLUTION
Following a detailed CCTV inspection and thorough pipeline preparation, ORSCO installed 232 metres of DN110 CIPP liner. Once cured, all 12 junctions were reinstated, restoring full functionality to the network while avoiding extensive excavation.

THE RESULTS
The project was completed successfully, delivering a durable and cost-effective rehabilitation solution with minimal impact on the school’s daily operations.

The project demonstrates how modern rehabilitation techniques can provide long-lasting results
while minimising disruption and reducing overall project costs.
